STYLIST RESEARCH MIDTERM PRESENTATION
Fashion Styling has taught me the role of stylists in the fashion industry, such as in commercial, editorial, advertising, music and entertainment and film and celebrity styling. I've also gained extensive knowledge of the behind the scenes requirements of what it takes to execute a successful photoshoot and campaign. The Midterm Presentation gave me the opportunity to research an acclaimed stylist in the fashion industry and recreate a photoshoot based on the inspiration I obtained from her work. I chose to research Camilla Nickerson, a stylist from the UK currently based in New York City and working as an editor and stylist at US Vogue. I was inspired by her edgy and classic style, in addition to many of the editorials she has styled, specifically the Vogue editorial with Harry Styles in December 2020. From her collection of work, I chose to reinterpret the Resort 2021 Gabriela Hearst advertising campaign.

For the Final Project in this course, we were assigned to work with two other students to construct a campaign concept and style a photoshoot compete with a moodboard, concept, keywords, garment selection and justification, styling, model, hair and makeup, posing, costing, and marketing. We had the opportunity to work with a professional photographer and model based in Italy for our photoshoot. To represent the underlying theme of Sustainability for the Final Project, we chose to juxtapose an interesting, abstract styling of second-hand clothing against the simplistic and gentle backdrop of Orto Botanico di Firenze, the University of Florence's botanical garden.
