Digital design

Final portfolio

Digital Design taught me how to utilize the Kaledo Print and Kaledo Style programs as a tool for textile design and technical flat illustrations. Through various assignments throughout the semester, I learned how to prepare, clean, and recolor flat prints, construct detailed motifs and vector objects in design print repeats, create, build, and reduce color palettes, build colorways, recolor prints, and develop fabric collections. I also utilized Kaledo Style to draw proportional flat sketches on croquis and fill them with textile designs. The Final Portfolio Project assisted in showcasing the various skills I developed over the course of the semester. In my portfolio, I curated four print collections including a trend concept board, master print, and derivative print, each with varying motif repeat directions and colorways. In my final collection, “A Head Full of Dreams,” I designed four garments and filled the flats with my master and derivative prints in the Pink Garden and Blue Garden colorways. This comprehensive portfolio demonstrates my ability to utilize Kaledo programs to design original textile print collections with concept pages, colorways, flat illustrations, and a collection of coordinating products filled with print designs and solid fabrics displaying the assortment.
